Keen local gardener, Lindy, who lives in Blewbury, is already a convert to use the rain. Her twin interests in gardening and sustainability led her to install a 1300 litre rainwater storage tank. Lindy takes part in the annual National Gardens Scheme, enabling people to visit her garden, where she has up to a thousand plants for sale. Many of which she propagates herself. Rainwater is fed from her garage roof to the storage tank and acts as a backup supply should the main water source in her garden, a spring, run dry.

Lindy says I wanted the convenience of having water to hand in my garden and I firmly believe plants prefer the soft untreated rainwater. I am also thinking ahead to when we have a meter installed, and am looking forward to the savings it will bring me in the long term.
